What drives you..
What drives you??What drives the world??
Is it fear and love
or is it money money money ...
Does profit drive the corporations ????
Well i personally think if i were to do business - i would not do it for the money..
I do not know how many people subscribe to this view , but i surely do - that business are not meant to make money or profit.. But are in the scheme of things for a larger purpose .
Just the other day i was in my classes at SP Jain ( talking what business is , and unanimously , almost everyone got up and said that business was nothing but making money .. was run for profits .. )
and some discussion it was , but to the end of the lecture , Parimal sir left us pondering over what in his opinion business is
1) Business is creating customer
2) Business is things done differently
3) Business is fire in the belly
4) Business is overcoming difficulties .
Interesting, Which one of these do you subscribe to ??

The beginning of our end or the end of our beginning
Sequel 2 - Who is costing the earth and who is paying the price
Part 1: At what cost:
The greatest problem glaring at our face over the world is to save the the mother nature and our world ,
India being a developing country - thats a real great thing , but then on more thought - maybe not – just like everything has its positive and its negative side . Since there are even greater demands on the natural resources.and to top it all the awareness is so low ( that almost every indian youth is ignorant of what the environment is suffering from ) . And this ecological burden can not sustained and we are heading towards a Collapse, unless we act now and act towards developing a more sustainable way of living and spreading that awareness.
Growth has a direct relation with the amount of greenhouse gases being emitted into the atmosphere.. And that we are not even letting the atmosphere cope up with the change. There is an allotted amount given per person as their footprint , but the demands from the atmosphere has doubled over the time period..
So we need to sit back and question ourselves where are we heading .
Part 2: Who is paying the Price :
And this bring me to the second point ..
The cost of growth is coming down the heaviest upon the Poorest .This case of global warming is paying the heaviest on the poorest .. and Wherein the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer , are the opportunities and wealth is only being distributed among the rich ..
A study said that for every Rs. 100 growth only 0.6% is distributed amongst the poor below the poverty line. And while we are chilling in Air Conditioned rooms smoking up the Atmosphere, the effect of the climate change is coming down like crazy on the Poor .
And this brings me to the morally imperative topic that needs are immediate attention - to eradicate poverty - i feel i have been simply lucky to be born in a family like mine (Access to all the worldly pleasures) but when we say all men are equal , should be all not have access to the basic necessities in life . In India there are stories of kids at railway platform not begging but only surviving by licking the tea that is left from the pots discarded.
Poverty I feel lies in rural India , and the beauty is they still are satisfied , at peace . But suffering - i am definitely NOT of the opinion of giving them a shoulder or any aids . But then we must provide the poor with opportunities and platforms wherein they can grow . Bringing me back to what my Dadaji ( grandfather) had once told a village head when he was making a school in a village . When questioned by the village head on why he was only funding the school by 75 % and not 100 % , he said unless your own money and work , does not go into something you do not value it .
And i want to go to the grassroots and make a difference. be there where the action is. And i can say for sure that we are coming a full circle , it will be very soon that we will have to give up everything we have today and go back to our basics .
I want to be the change i want to see . And as they say , the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world , actually do !!

The Beginning of our End or the End of our Beginning..
Sequel 1: The journey begins backwards..back to our basics
Chapter 1 – Stay Inspired
Truly inspirational indeed, the story of Paritrana is like something, coming straight out from the days of freedom struggle . We - and i am guilty of it myself - have always complained how the system in India is just so corrupt and especially how the politicians have sold the country for their personal greed .
Chapter 2 - Poor State
Over the world , politics has become synonymous to corruptibility and due to current breed of politicians , governing organizations the faith in the system takes a beating .
While i am generalizing the politicians, i have very high regard for some of our very immediate politicians Abdul Kalam ji , Manmohan Singh , PC Chidambram . And the politicians of yesterdays, especially the ones who got together , to get India its freedom , were just something else .
Chapter 3 - Hope
I am extremely passionate about India and very proud of its heritage and its past but Today , I want a change and i also understand it is important that it flows from the top , i.e. the governing body . But not always does change have to flow from top , there have been some beautiful instances of how common men have contributed to the change - The corporations like the Tata's Birlas Infosys , the story of our family , some very committed originations .
and in my capacity ( there is no limit to ones capacity ) i want to contribute to this change , though i do not intend to get into mainstream politics , i wish to contribute to our country , our society by becoming an entrepreneur .
Chapter 4 - Get back to our basics
I truly stand by the fact that we are moving away from our roots . We need to get back to the simple basic things in life , and this fact has instilled in me a great believer in doing something for the environment and doing something for the society at large ( every segment of it ) , and i wan to work across the globe . With special interests in Rural India ( Education and Agriculture ) and the Environment .
Chapter 5 - The road ahead
With a very strong desire to work on these issues , i have not yet found or created an opportunity / platform for myself , but i am very committed to my and vision , my beliefs .
I wish to travel the world work in different surroundings different cultures through AIESEC, work with a few organizations like synapse (Goa) and VSSU ( rural Bengal ) before i start something of my own , and there is the family business that i would want to take forward .
And surely i see myself as a globe trotter - on the roads on a harley , spreading awareness on environment and work with the rural india and educate them make them aware . Surely get into farming, re-use of energy .
I want to find my purpose , and align all my interests , my beliefs all together and I believe that everyone has a unique purpose , a mission in their lives..
In pursuit of my purpose. my mission..
The journey begins backwards..back to our basics .
